Canada occupies most of the continent of North America from the Atlantic Ocean in the east to the Pacific in the West and north to the Arctic Ocean. Canada is the worlds second largest country by area and a population around 32 million which is increasing mainly by immigration.
Canada has a very varied landscape - in the east there are the mountainous maritime provinces have a coastline on the Gulf of St Lawrence and the Atlantic, then there is the large plains covering most of Quebec province and Ontario and Saskatchewan , the two plains are separated by a plateau arising from the great lakes Superior and Huron. Westward most of British Columbia and the Yukon are covered by mountain ranges.
